Custom Dimensions


In addition to our default list of dimensions, you have the option of personalizing your charts by defining up to 3 custom dimensions. These dimensions will appear on all compatible global metrics. Work with your CSM to decide on the most valuable dimensions to track.

  • spender_group
  • lifetime_transactions
  • subscription_status

Implementation

  1. Decide on 3 custom dimensions and the apps involved
  2. Follow the iOS or Android guide to instrument custom dimensions as properties in user_attributes
  3. Notify your CSM and your custom dimensions will be made available

Custom Event Dimensions


You have the option to define up to 3 custom event dimensions. Different from custom dimensions, event dimensions record information about the occurring event rather than about the user sending the event. As such, event dimensions are only available on Events metrics. Work with your CSM to decide on the most valuable event dimensions to track.

Example of event dimensions pertaining to the event gameplay.mission_end

  • duration
  • dungeon_level
  • outcome (e.g., win, loss)

  3. Notify your CSM and your custom dimensions will be made available

Custom Funnels


Upsight's Global Funnel metric records events triggered by users as they progress through a user-defined funnel.

Example of an 8-step tutorial funnel:

  1. pub.funnel.tutorial.character_select
  2. pub.funnel.tutorial.level_start
  3. pub.funnel.tutorial.checkpoint1
  4. pub.funnel.tutorial.checkpoint2
  5. pub.funnel.tutorial.tips
  6. pub.funnel.tutorial.checkpoint3
  7. pub.funnel.tutorial.level_passed
  8. pub.funnel.tutorial.coins_earned

To see user progression through each step of the funnel, plot the Global Funnel metric and filter to "Tutorial Funnel".

Instrumentation

  1. Decide on a list of funnel events and a name for your funnel.
  2. Follow the iOS or Android guide and instrument any funnel events that are not a default event already tracked by Upsight
  3. Notify your CSM to enable your funnel metric
