Upsight Dashboard Metrics


Our goal at Upsight is to make your data as accessible as possible. We’ve designed our dashboard to be flexible and allow you to manipulate your data in any way that works for you. This means you have access to countless different key performance indicators (KPIs) and statistics. The following is a sample list of the most common metrics you’ll see in our dashboard:

  • Uniques: Total unique users who have visited a site or spent any time in your app during the course of a day based on user activity sent to Upsight. Also known as daily active users (DAU).
  • Installs: Total number of install messages (APA) that Upsight's Analytics servers have received. For mobile apps, it’s important to note that installs are not registered until a user actually opens an app.
  • Day 1 Retention: Percentage of users who installed on Day 0 and come back on Day 0 + 1 (GMT).
  • Day 7 Retention: Percentage of users who install on Day 0 and come back on Day 0 + 7 (GMT).
  • Revenue: Sum of the total value of all revenue messages (MTU) that have been received by Upsight's Analytics servers.
  • Revenue Per Unique: Sum of the total value of all revenue messages (MTU) that have been received by Upsight's Analytics servers divided by uniques. This is sometimes referred to as average revenue per user (ARPU) or average revenue per daily active user (ARPDAU).
  • Average Revenue Per Paying User (ARPPU): Sum of the total value of all revenue messages (MTU) that have been received by Upsight’s Analytics servers divided by the number of users that have ever spent money on the site or in the app.
  • Sessions: Period of activity within the app or website bounded on either side by a period of inactivity, depending on the platform:
    • For Mobile: For session to end, app must be “out of focus” for more than 2 minutes.
    • For Web/Social: For session to end, site or application must see inactivity of more than 30 minutes.
    • Time On App Per User: Average amount of time spent in the app per user per day. Can be calculated as the number of sessions/day multiplied by the average session length.
